Russia: ore transportation up in 2018

Iron ore transportation in July reached the record-high level in the past 15 years at 10.1 million tons, up by 9.8% YoY.

Since the start of the year railroads have transported 67.1 million tons of ore, up by 5.1% YoY.

Local transportation increased by 11%, while exports remained flat. (Ukrainian metal)

Russia: corrosion-resistant pipes imports from Kazakhstan up in H1 2018

In January-June Russia imported 15.2 thousand tons of seamless corrosion-resistant steel pipes from Kazakhstan, up 50-fold YoY.

Moreover the result of the whole 2017 has been exceeded 4.5-fold.

Kazakhstan accounts for some 60% of all Russian imports of these products.

Ukraine: Belozerskoye Mine Group commissions new long face

The Belozerskoye Mine Group (Donetsk region) has put into operation the 5th northern long face at the Novodonetskaya mine.

The coal reserves total 2 million tons.

The face will provide miners with enough work for the next 18 months.

Russia: Sortstal going bankrupt

The Arbitrary court of Sverdlovsk region will consider the claim of Sortstal on being declared bankrupt.

The court received the relevant document on August 24.

According to it, the volume of claims is 49.87 million rubles.

Sortstal was registered in 2004. Its main activities were wholesale of fuel, ore and chemical materials. (Ukrainian metal)

Russia: BrAZ profit down in H1 2018

In January-June Rusal Bratsk Aluminum Works decreased net profit 1.4-fold YoY, to 1.062 billion rubles.

According to the company statement, the revenue dropped by 0.1%, to 47.149 billion rubles.

Russia: Amurstal sales up in July 2018

In July Amurstal (ex-Amurmetal) shipped 61 thousand tons of metal, up 6-fold YoY.

In January-July sales increased 9.4-fold YoY, to 288.3 thousand tons.

This year the company has supplied 95.2 thousand tons of metal to domestic customers and exported 193 thousand tons. (Ukrainian metal)

Russia: scrap deliveries to Amurstal up in July 2018

In July railroad deliveries of scrap to Amurstal (ex-Amurmetal) totaled 68.2 thousand tons.

The deliveries grew 30-fold YoY.
