Ukraine: American delegation on coal deliveries to arrive in a week

An American working group on the issue of coal deliveries will arrive in Ukraine.

“On May 23 the American group will come”, the minister of energy and coal industry Igor Nasalik declared.

Russia: TMK profits up in Q1 2017

In January-March TMK received $42 million of net profits, up 3-fold YoY.

According to the company statement, its earnings went up by 24%, to $944 million. EBITDA grew by 15%, to $142 million.

Russia: Kuzbass coking coal mining stabilizes

In January-April coal companies of Kemerovo region mined 77.3 million tons of coal, up by 8% YoY.

According to the regional state administration, power-generating coal output totaled 56.7 million tons, up by 10.5%, and coking coal output remained on the 2016 level (20.6 million tons). (Ukrainian metal)

Russia: Amurmetal earnings down in Q1 2017

In January-March Amurmetal received 897.855 million rubles of net losses, down by 17.1% YoY.

According to the company report, earnings dropped 12.6-fold, to 133.684 million rubles.

Ukraine: Verkhovnaya Rada to prolong scrap export duty

The Verkhovnaya Rada committee on industrial policy and entrepreneurship recommended the parliament to extend the scrap export duty of 30 euro per ton for 2 years.

According to the state enterprise Ukrpromvneshexpertisa in 2016 scrap procurement reached 3.5 million tons, the minimum volume for the past 20 years. (Ukrainian metal)
