Kazakhstan: Kazakhmys copper output up in H1 2018

In January-June Kazakhmys produced 123.056 thousand tons of copper cathodes, down by 2% YoY.

The copper contents in the ore dropped from 0.94% to 0.93%.

In mid-term Kazakhmys intends to increase copper output to 250 thousand tons per year. (Ukrainian metal)

Ukraine: EMSS produces rolls for ABB

Energomashspetsstal has supplied a batch of rolls to ABB.

“In June EMSS shipped 183 tons of rolls to Finnish and Polish metal makers. The parts will be used in engine manufacture”, the company said.

Russia: rolled metal railroad deliveries down in H1 2018

In June direct deliveries of rolled metal and pipes to metal structure manufacturers via railroad totaled 59.5 thousand tons.

In annual comparison they dropped by 14%.

Russia: metal deliveries to shipbuilders down in June 2018

In June direct deliveries of steel, pipes and semi-finished products to the major shipbuilding companies via railroad reached 6.1 thousand tons.

In annual comparison the deliveries decreased by 22.4%.

Russia: Svyatogor commissions reverberatory furnace

Svyatogor, a part of UGMK, has put into operation after a major overhaul the reverberatory furnace No. 1.

The furnace was shut down in May 2017.

It took 2 months to cool down the furnace. While working its temperature reaches 1500 degrees C.

Russia: VIZ-Stal output up in H1 2018

In January-June VIZ-Stal produced 86 thousand tons of transformer steel, up by 12% YoY, with capacities fully loaded.

Sales grew by 10%, to 84 thousand tons.
