Ukraine: scrap exports down in August 2018

In August Ukraine imported $2.849 million worth of ferrous scrap, up by 53.2% YoY.

According to the State Fiscal Service, exports dropped by 66.1%, to $5.826 million.

Ukraine mostly exported scrap to Turkey ($5.504 million).

In January-August scrap exports grew by 69.9%, to $98.244 million, while imports by 57.1%, to $24.858 million. (Ukrainian metal)

Russia: corrosion-resistant scrap exports up in July 2018

In July, according to the customs statistics, Russia exported 10.5 thousand tons of corrosion-resistant steel scrap valued at $12 million, up by 20.4% and 1.5-fold YoY respectively.

In January-July exports grew by 41.8%, to 65 thousand tons valued at $71 million, up by 60%.

The name and corporate identity of the trading company that supplies NLMK products to the global market were aligned with NLMK Group’s brand.

Russia: gold mine collapses in Chelyabinsk region

The Tsentralnaya gold mine in Chelyabinsk Region operated by gold producer UGC, also known as Uzhuralzoloto, collapsed on September 19, killing one person, a spokesperson for the Emergency Ministry’s local branch reported.

The mine collapsed at the depth of 820 meters, when two people were working there.

Kazakhstan: steel pipes exports to Russia up in January-July 2018

In January-July Kazakhstan exported 99.6 thousand tons of steel pipes to Russia, up by 102.2% YoY.

This is also just 9% below the whole last year result.

According to the customs statistics, deliveries from Kazakhstan account for 31.4% of all the Russian steel pipe imports. (Ukrainian metal)
