On September 18, an important event took place at the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Plant, aimed at further expanding the company’s international relations and strengthening its position in the global copper market. A delegation from the International Copper Association (ICA), led by President and CEO Juan Ignacio Diaz, paid an official visit to the plant.
During the visit, the foreign guests, accompanied by Abdulla Khursanov, Chairman of the Board of JSC Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Plant, visited the Metallurg Palace of Culture, where they viewed the “Suyulitep Monument” exhibition and the plant’s history museum.
The delegation then toured the plant’s production facilities, including the viewing platforms of the Kalmakyr and Yoshlik I mines, as well as the process transport department.
The guests were particularly interested in the production capacity of the recently commissioned Copper Concentrator Plant No. 3 and the modern technologies implemented at the plant.
The representatives of the International Copper Association were also greatly impressed by the work of the AGMK Engineering School, which trains qualified specialists for the plant and other related enterprises.
During the meeting, the parties discussed in detail the prospects for developing mutually beneficial cooperation in areas such as developing a green economy, ensuring the environmental sustainability of copper production, implementing modern technological innovations, and improving product quality and competitiveness in the global market.
The leadership of the International Copper Association highly praised the role of AGMK and its economic potential in Central Asia. It was noted that the implementation of joint projects and the establishment of a continuous exchange of experience would further serve the mutual interests of both parties. (MetalPortal)
