Ukraine: Azovstal shuts down converter No. 2

Azovstal has shut down its converter No. 2 for an 8-hour repair to service gas-purifying equipment.

A month ago the converter was also shut down to repair technological equipment, sensors, etc.

Within the following 4 years Azovstal intends to invest over $300 million into environment-protection projects. (Ukrainian metal)

Russia: gold output up in January-April 2018

In January-April Russia increased raw and semi-raw gold, or in powder form output by 2% YoY.

According to Rosstat, in April gold output grew by 14.1% YoY.

Russia: copper exports up in Q1 2018

In January-March Russia exported 218.7 thousand tons of primary copper valued at $1496 million, up by 15.2% and by 40.6% YoY respectively.

In March the average price of primary copper was $6739 per ton FOB Russian border, up by 19% YoY.

Copper wire rod (wire) price was $6769 per ton, up by 23.4%. (Ukrainian metal)

Russia: Primorzoloto to construct gold-extracting factory in the Far East

Within the Freeport of Vladivostok project, Primorzoloto plans to construct a gold-extracting factory.

Investor intends to construct two quarries.

Gold-bearing ore will be delivered to the factory with the capacity of 500 thousand tons of ore per year.
