Russia: ferrous metals throughput in Port Novorossiysk up in January-September 2016

In January-September ferrous metals throughput in the Novorossiysk Sea Trade Port reached 10.03 million tons, up by 12.2% YoY.

Iron ore raw materials throughput increased by 40.2%, to 2.14 million tons. Non-ferrous metals throughput dropped by 4.8% YoY, to 0.81 million tons. (Ukrainian metal)

Ukraine: Makeevugol not reaching coalmining target

In October Makeevugol mined 97.9% of the plan. It still needs to mine 1080 tons this month.

According to the company statement, Kholodnaya Balka mined 117.5% of the plan, Kalinovskaya-Vostochnaya – 100.8%, named after Kirov – 100%, Yasinovatskaya-Glubokaya – 76.2%, Severnaya – 84.9%. (Ukrainian metal)

Russia: Kola repairs converter

The smelting shop of Kola Mining and Metallurgical Company (a part of Norilsk Nickel) saw the completion of the converter No. 6 overhaul.

The company used some 200 tons of refractory bricks in repairs.

Russia: raw magnesium output up in January-September 2016

In January-September Russia increased raw magnesium production by 1.6% YoY, while magnesium alloys output dropped by 0.5%.

According to the Federal Service of State Statistics, in September raw magnesium output remained on the August level, but increased by 4.9% YoY. Magnesium alloys production increased by 14.9% MoM and by 16.5% YoY. (Ukrainian metal)

Russia: raw cobalt output up in January-September 2016

In January-September Russia increased raw cobalt output by 66.6% YoY.

According to the Federal Service of State Statistics, in September raw cobalt output went up by 24.7% YoY, but dropped by 40.6% MoM. (Ukrainian metal)

Russia: Severstal Balkanovo starts producing screw bars

Severstal – Balkanovo has started producing screw dire-rolling section No. 22.

Such sections could be connected with nuts and are used in construction.

The first 120 tons of screw bars will be shipped to consumers this month. (Ukrainian metal)

Ukraine: Interpipe appoints new CEO

Interpipe has appointed Fadi Hraibe its new CEO.

According to the company statement, Hraibe will start working on his new position from November 1. Oleg Rosenberg, who has been heading Interpipe since 2013, has finished his cooperation with the company.

Ukraine: ferroalloys export-import in September 2016

In September Ukraine exported $61.26 million worth of ferroalloys, while imports totaled $7.05 million.

According to the State Fiscal Service, Turkey was the main consumer of Ukrainian ferroalloys in September ($11.77 million).

In January-September Ukraine exported $519.51 million worth of ferroalloys, with imports at $61.19 million. (Ukrainian metal)

Ukraine: coke export-import in September 2016

In September Ukraine imported $25.37 million worth of coke, with exports on the level of $3.9 million.

According to the State Fiscal Service, Russia was the main supplier of coke to Ukraine in September ($15.49 million).

In January-September Ukraine imported $194.4 million worth of coke, while exports reached $22.45 million. (Ukrainian metal)

Ukraine: coke output down in September 2016

In September Ukraine produced 1046 thousand tons of bulk 6% moisture coke, down by 3.6% MoM, or by 39 thousand tons.

According to Ukrmetallurgprom, in January-September coke output increased by 1.1% YoY, or by 1275 thousand tons, to 9699 thousand tons. (Ukrainian metal)
