Ukraine: Interpipe to create JV with Vallourec

The pipe and wheel holding Interpipe intends to create a joint venture with the French Vallourec.

The Antimonopoly Service of Germany recorded the corresponding appeal on October 4.

Russia: NLMK generates 96.5% of Lipetsk region exports

In January-September Lipetsk region foreign turnover increased by 42.5% YoY, to 3.4 billion rubles.

According to the local customs office, exports increased by 42.6%, to $2.8 billion, imports – by 42%, to $223 million.

Russia: Agrisovgaz starts producing high-precision aluminum castings

Agrisovgaz has started producing high-precision castings of aluminum alloys using vacuum-film molding.

The castings are made on the modern equipment. The products are tested for quality on site.

The company can now produce castings of 2-80 kg of aluminum and zinc alloys with the capacity of 600 tons per year. (Ukrainian metal)

At the Novogrodovskaya mine of the state enterprise Selidovugol in Donetsk region 34 miners of the first shift refused to go above ground.

Ukraine: Deripaska sells NGZ

The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine has allowed Glencore to buy Nikolaev Alumina Works from Rusal.

Glencore will own a share in Aluminiy Ukrainy LLC and Guardon Ukraina LLC, which own 13.96% and 86.04% in NGZ respectively.

In 2016 Nikolaev Alumina Works produced 1.51 million tons of alumina, up by 2% YoY. (Ukrainian metal)

Russia: metal prices up in September 2107

In September industrial product prices increased by 2.4%.

According to the Federal Service of State Statistics, in quarrying and ore processing prices increased by 14.4%, in non-ferrous metals ore – by 1.9%.

Pig iron, steel and ferroalloys became 11.2% more expensive, while non-ferrous metals prices increased by 8.3%, and copper – by 7.1%. (Ukrainian metal)
