Russia: ex-agency head to become vice president of Norilsk Nickel

The former head of Russia’s Federal State Property Management Agency Dmitry Pristanskov will return to metals giant Norilsk Nickel as a vice president this week.

Russia: OEMK produces 45 million tons of rolled metal

On March 2, the bar-rolling shop No. 1 of the Oskol Electrometallurgical Works produced the 45-millionth ton of rolled metal.

The anniversary ton was the bearing steel rounds of 85 mm in diameter.

Russia: Karabashmed modernizing sulfur acid shop

Karabashmed has started assembling metal structures and sites needed to operate four new moist electric filters in the sulfur acid shop.

The assembly will last for a month.

Russia: UEM improves efficiency of copper powder manufacture

The Uralelectromed powder shop has received a new Gecam mill.

The mill processes the surface of wares made of copper powder.

Previously wares were treated manually. The machine will do it 3-4 times faster and is expected to process some 20 to 30 thousand spare parts per month. (Ukrainian metal)
