Russia: coal and ferrous metals port throughput up in January-February 2018

In January-February the throughput of Russian seaports grew by 4.4% YoY, to 121.7 million tons.

According to the Association of sea trade ports, in particular, the throughput of coal increased to 22.4 million tons, or by 7.5%, while that of ferrous metals – by 14.3%, to 5.1 million tons. (Ukrainian metal)

Belarus: gold mining in Sudan considered

Belarus and Sudan are considering gold mining in the African country, Head of the Belarus President Property Management Directorate Viktor Sheiman said.

Russia: Evraz ZSMK produces high-strength rails

Evraz ZSMK has produced a trial batch of rails of the new category – DT400 IK.

The rails can be used under the most sever conditions.

Previously such rails were not produced in Russia.
