Russia: Uskovskaya mines 2 million tons of coal

The Uskovskaya mine has yielded 2 million tons of coal.

The coal was mined from two long faces – 50-06 of the East wing and 50-20 of the West wing.

The 1st million tons were mined in May.

Russia: Mechel-Koks finishes coke-oven battery No. 7 modernization

Mechel-Koks has commissioned the modernized coke-oven battery No. 7.

The modernization will help decrease air pollution when producing coke by 9.1 tons per year.

The cost of the project was 76 million rubles.

Since 2006 Mechel has invested some 5 billion rubles in Mechel-Koks modernization, including 1.4 billion rubles in environment protection. (Ukrainian metal)

Russia: metal structures output down in January-November 2018

In January-November Russia produced 4.3 million tons of steel structures, down by 2.3% YoY.

According to the Federal Service of State Statistics, November output was down by 2% YoY and by 12.3% from June.

Ukraine: Toretsk mine caves-in killing one

During the cave-in of rock at a mine in Toretsk (Donetsk region) one miner perished.

The cave-in occurred at the depth of over 1 thousand meters.
