Russia: rolled copper exports down in April 2019

In April Russia exported 426.8 tons of copper rods and sections, down by 9.2% MoM and by 20.7% YoY.

At the same time the price has increased by 7.4%, to $6.6 per kg.

In 4 months exports dropped by 5.2%, to 1.7 thousand tons, and in monetary terms – by 4%. (Ukrainian metal)

Russia: UEM gets new dump truck

The Proizvodstvo polimetallov (Polymetal Manufacture) subsidiary of Uralelectromed has received a new BelAZ 7540 dump truck.

The machine carrying capacity is 30 tons.

Daily the company operates some 11 BelAZs.

This is the first machine purchased this year. The company also intends to buy a forklift truck and a front-end loader. (Ukrainian metal)

EAEU: galvanized metal investigation prolonged

The Department of the protection of the inner market of the Eurasian economic commission has prolonged the antidumping investigation of the import of galvanized metal of Ukrainian and Chinese origin.

The investigation is prolonged until October 28.

Ukraine: Privatbank wins suit against Marganets GOK

Privatbank has gained another victory in the claim against a guarantor in loan re-financing – this time Marganets Mining and Processing Works.

The court proceedings started in 2017.

Russia: Severstal Steel Ropes presents unique solutions for elevator industry

Severstal Steel Ropes has presented a new range of elevator ropes at the Russian Elevator Week-2019.

The company is demonstrating new Alerion steel ropes characterized by increased service life, including Alerion MC8 ropes with 8-thread metal core.

Russia: SUMZ commissions new gas exhaust system

Sredneuralsk Copper-Smelting Works has put into operation a new Aspeks system of gas purification in the converter department of its copper shop.

Investments in the system implementation reached 300 million rubles.
