Ukraine: EMSS to supply rolls for Salem Steel Plant

Energomashspetsstal and the largest Indian metal group SAIL have concluded an agreement on the delivery of four supporting rolls weighing 106.5 tons.

The EMSS rolls will be installed at Salem Steel Plant hot-rolling mills.

The contract has to be fulfilled in Q2-3 2019.

The companies have been cooperating since 2013. (Ukrainian metal)

Russia: VIZ-Stal output and sales up in January-September 2018

In January-September VIZ-Stal produced 128 thousand tons of transformer steel, up by 9% YoY.

The capacities were fully loaded.

Transformer steel sales grew also by 9%, to 127 thousand tons.

The positive dynamics has to do with the growth of the world demand for transformer steel.

Russia: Bardin Institute develops new steel for railroad wheels

The Ferrous Metals Research Institute named after Bardin has developed a new alloyed steel with bainitic structure for the solid-rolled railroad wheels. Ukraine: Mekhanobrchermet to pay 4 million UAH of salary debts

One of the largest metal companies of Krivoy Rog – Mekhanobrchermet – has topped the Dniepropetrovsk region list on salary debts.

The management was ordered to pay 4.1 million UAH to its employees.

Russia: aluminum exports up in January-August 2018

In August Russia exported 423.3 thousand tons of raw aluminum, up by 42.15% YoY.

In January-August, according to the customs statistics, the exports totaled 2.15 million tons valued at $3910 million, up by 12.2% and by 25.2% YoY respectively.

In August the average prices was $1809 per ton, up by 8.2% MoM. (Ukrainian metal)

Ukraine: Armenia and Kyrgyzstan taken to WTO over steel pipe duties
