Russia: ferrous scrap imports from Kazakhstan up in Q1 2018

In March Russia imported 26.7 thousand tons of ferrous scrap from Kazakhstan, up by 20.2% MoM, but down by 19.6% YoY.

In February the results were -3.1% and +40.6%, while in January –62.6% and –40.3% respectively.

In January-March imports totaled 72 thousand tons, down by 34.1% YoY. (Ukrainian metal)

Ukraine: SevGOK output up in January-April 2018

In January-April Severniy Mining and Processing Works produced 2.917 million tons of pellets, up by 40% YoY.

According to the company statement, concentrate output grew by 5.2%, to 3.835 million tons.

In April the works produced 820 thousand tons of pellets and 1.002 million tons of concentrate. (Ukrainian metal)

Russia: metal prices up in April 2018

In April industrial prices increased by 1.2%.

According to the Federal Service of State Statistics (Rosstat), coal prices grew by 3.5%, and non-ferrous metals ores – by 2.6%.

At the same time pig iron, steel and ferroalloy prices increased by 2.4%, while of lead, zinc and tin – by 2%. (Ukrainian metal)

In January-March Russia exported 33.7 thousand tons of raw nickel valued at $444 million, down by 11.3%, but up by 20.4% YoY respectively.
