In 2014 Ukraine exported 2.2 million tons of steelsmelting pig iron, down by 2.3% YoY, or by 2.5%, to $802.3 million.
In 2014 ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih produced 5555.4 thousand tons of rolled metal, down by 1.9% YoY.
In 2014 Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant (NZF) produced 40.1 thousand tons of ferromanganese, up by 45.8%, or by 12.6 thousand tons, YoY.
In 2014 Ukraine exported $1094.98 million worth of steel pipes with imports on the level of $108.01 million.
According to the World Steel Association, in December 2014 Ukraine went up to 11th position in the leading world steel manufacturers rating, leaving behind Italy that fell to the 13th place.
In 2014 Ferrexpo plc, owner of the Poltava and Yeristovo Mining and Processing Works (PGOK and EGOK), increased its output of pellets of its own raw materials by 2%, to 10670.54 thousand tons, and those of purchased raw materials – by 1%, to 350.86 thousand tons, all YoY.
In 2014 Ukraine decreased its coal output by 22%.
In 2014 Dneprovsky Iron and Steel Works named after F. Dzerzhinsky, a part of the Industrial Union of Donbass, produced 2.53 million tons of rolled metal, down by 15.1% YoY.
In 2014 Ukraine decreased its carbon steel semi-finished products exports by 15.8%, to 9.16 million tons, YoY. At the same time they fell by 17.2%, to $4.34 billion.
In 2014 Ukrainian companies consumed 4 million tons of steel, down by 43.7% YoY (7.1 million tons in 2013).
According to Ukrkoks association, in 2015 Ukraine will need to import 12-14 million tons of coking coal to meet the domestic demand.
In 2014 Yuzhniy Mining and Processing Works (UGOK) increased its concentrate output by 0.1% YoY, to 10.95 million tons.
In 2014 Zaporizhstal increased output of all its main types of products.
