Belarus: BMZ results for Q1 2017

In January-March Belarus Iron and Steel Works sold over 350 thousand tons of metal, up from 296 thousand tons in Q1 2016.

Europe is the BMZ main sales market with 62.3%.

Sales to Russia increased to 33.1%.

Ukraine: Sukhaya Balka strike ends

Evraz Sukhaya Balka miners have stopped their strike.

On May 12 all the miners returned to the surface.

For more than two days employees of two mines remained on their working places demanding increase of wages. On May 11 all the work at the mines was halted for safety reasons. (Ukrainian metal)

Ukraine: Krasnoarmeyskugol renamed

The Ministry of energy and coal industry has renamed the state enterprise Krasnoarmeyskugol Mirnogradugol, as the decommunization law dictates.

Earlier the town of Krasnoarmeysk, where the company is situated, was renamed Mirnograd.

The state enterprise comprises 4 mines, yielding power-generating and coking coal. (Ukrainian metal)
