Ukraine: Selidovugol miners paid 30 million UAH

On August 6 the miners of the state enterprise Selidovugol were partially paid their salary debts.

According to Mikhail Volynets, the chairman of the Independent Miners Union, 30 million UAH was used to pay April and 50% of May salary.

Russia: Krasniy Octyabr finishes mill-1150 modernization

In July Krasniy Octyabr carried out large-scale repairs on the mill-1150.

The replacement of 118 bearings in roll-tables allowed decreasing the time to supply ingots, while at the same time increasing the speed of metal cutting.

The repair of the soaking pits in the furnace bay significantly reduced company gas consumption. (Ukrainian metal)

Kazakhstan: AMT sued for environment legislation violations

The Department of ecology of Karaganda region has sued ArcelorMittal Temirtau for violation of the environment-protection legislation.

The unscheduled inspection of the works revealed a number of violations. In particular, the company air pollution exceeded the allowed limits.

The total damage to the environment is estimated at 1.395 billion tenge ($4 million). (Ukrainian metal)

Russia: Rusal profit down in Q2 2018

In April-June Rusal decreased net profit by 31% QoQ, to $218 million, but increased it by 8% YoY.

In H1 net profit grew by 15% YoY, to $535 million.

Quarter revenue dropped by 18% QoQ, to $2.25 billion, but went up by 4% YoY, to $4.99 billion in H1. (Ukrainian metal)

Ukraine: copper exports up in January-July 2018

In January-July Ukraine imported $51.894 million worth of copper and copper wares, up by 9.4% YoY.

According to the State Fiscal Service, exports grew by 38.5%, to $100.8345 million.

Russia: construction companies reduce metal purchases

In July ferroconcrete structures and housing constructing plants purchased 12.9 thousand tons of rolled metal.

According to the railroad statistics, deliveries fell by 30.7% YoY.

In January-July deliveries reached 105.9 thousand tons, down by 33.9% YoY. (Ukrainian metal)

Russia: rolled metal deliveries to service metal centers down in July 2018

In July direct deliveries of rolled metal to the major service metal centers, which produce construction metal wares, totaled 207.6 thousand tons.

According to railroad statistics, that’s 4.1% below the corresponding last year result.

In January-July railroad delivery reached 1.36 million tons, up by 5.5% YoY. (Ukrainian metal)

Russia: steel deliveries to metal traders down in July 2018

In July bases of the main Russian trading companies and networks received 0.92 million tons of steel products (rolled metal and pipes), including imported metal.

According to the railroad statistics, the volume dropped by 9.5% YoY.

According to railroad statistics, direct ferrous scrap deliveries to major Russian metal companies and pipe works reached 1.44 million tons, up by 14% YoY.
