Russia: Rosgeo starts exploration for gold and copper at new Khabarovsk field

Russian state geological exploration company Rosgeo has initiated exploration of gold and copper at a 121 square kilometer Yumtulsky prospective area in Russia’s easternmost Khabarovsk region through its subsidiary Dalgeophizika.

According to the company statement on August 16, it plans to finish the survey until the end of 2019. (Prime/Ukrainian metal)

Kazakhstan: copper mining works to be put into operation in 2017

GRK MLD LLC intends to put its copper concentrate and cathode mining and processing works in the East-Kazakhstan region into operation this year.

According to the regional department of entrepreneurship and industrial-innovative development, investments into the project total 17.4 billion tenge. The works capacity will be 750 thousand tons of ore per year. (Ukrainian metal)

Raw zinc output decreased by 0.5%.

In January-February Russia increased raw copper output by 1% YoY.

According to the Federal Service of State Statistics, copper alloys output dropped by 18.7%, rods and sections – by 37.3%, but wire production rose by 38.3%, and foil – by 80.2%. (Ukrainian metal)

Kazakhstan: copper and zinc output down in January-February 2017

In January-February Kazakhstan decreased copper cathodes and raw zinc output by 3.3% and by 1% YoY respectively.

According to the Statistics committee of the Economy Ministry, raw steel output went up by 8.6% YoY.
