Last night, the Zaporizhzhia industrial site was hit by a Russian strike.
This is not the first time that Metinvest has been through destruction and reconstruction after attacks. But there is something that cannot be accustomed to – human casualties.
A ballistic strike caught employees on their way to shelter immediately after the alarm was raised. Unfortunately, this terrorist attack claimed the lives of seven members of the Zaporizhzhia team. Their deaths were a great loss for their families and loved ones. Also, 21 employees were injured. The company is providing them with all the necessary assistance and support. It remains in touch with the families of the deceased and injured and is helping them get through this extremely difficult time.
Metinvest’s Zaporizhzhia enterprises are civilian industrial facilities that employ tens of thousands of people and produce metallurgical and coke-chemical products.
As a result of the enemy attack, the energy units and infrastructure of the Zaporizhzhia enterprises of Metinvest, the main and auxiliary capacities of the coke and blast furnace production were damaged. Currently, the work of the metallurgical plant has been completely stopped; other production sites are operating at reduced capacities. Specialists are assessing the consequences of the enemy attack, the possibilities and terms of recovery, and are also carrying out the necessary emergency repair work.
Flags at Metinvest enterprises are lowered to half-mast in mourning for the deceased employees. (Zaporizhstal)
