In January Russia produced 4.3 million tons of steel, up by 11.5% YoY, but down by 3.6% MoM. Pig iron output grew by 4.6% YoY, to 4 million tons, with rolled metal production up by 3.2%, to 4.5 million tons. Izhorsky Pipe Works, a part of Severstal, will supply 100 thousand tons of large diameter pipes for Gazprom’s Sila Sibiry (Power of Siberia) pipeline.
