Russia: VMZ hires record number of employees in 2019
In 2019 Vyksa Iron and Steel Works hired a record number of employees. In particular, 1720 have been hired, including 337 by ways of internal rotation. This is the highest result in five years. Previously it did not exceed 1200 people per year. (Ukrainian metal)
Russia: OMZ-Spetsstal starts producing billets for Suydapu NPP
OMZ-Spetsstal has started producing billets for the 4th energy unit of the Suydapu Nuclear Power Plant in China. Under the contract with AEM-technologies, OMZ-Spetsstal will produce billets for the reactor body, steam generator and pressure compensator. The total weight of the billet will be 1800 tons. In November 2019 Russia imported 1 thousand tons of non-refined copper from Kazakhstan, up by 60% MoM and more than 9-fold YoY. In 11 months of 2019 imports totaled 4.2 thousand tons, up by 118% YoY. In November 2019 Russia exported 46.4 thousand tons of lead ore and concentrate, up by 85% MoM and by 70% YoY. Deliveries to China grew almost 2-fold, to 45.9 thousand tons, and to Kazakhstan – from 135 tons to 555 tons. In 11 months of 2019 exports totaled 374 thousand tons, up by 16% YoY.…
