Russia: Severstal finishes repairs at Kolpino sites

Severstal has finished the scheduled capital repairs for 2017 at its two Kolpino city enterprises: Izhorsky Pipe Works and Cherepovets Iron and Steel Works (sheet-rolling shop).

The modernization has been designed by the Severstal Russian Steel enterprise – VNIIMETMASH.

The repairs will improve the technical characteristics of machinery and its wear resistance. (Ukrainian metal)

Ukraine: EMSS to supply 500 tons of rolls to Mariupol Ilyich

Energomashspetsstal will supply rolls to Mariupol Ilyich Iron and Steel Works.

The agreement was concluded in October.

According to the contract, EMSS will produce 22 supporting rolls with the total weight of 499 tons. The rolls will be used in the cold- and hot-rolling mills.

The delivery is scheduled for Q1-2 2018. (Ukrainian metal)

Ukraine: Evraz gives 97.7% in Evraz DMZ to Drampisco

Evraz has transferred 97.7% of shares in Evraz Dneprosvky Iron and Steel Works, previously possessed by Palmrose B.V., to Drampisco (Cyprus).

The change in the ownership took place on November 17.

Drampisco and Palmrose B.V. are Evraz’s daughter companies.

In 2016 Evraz DMZ decreased losses 3.4-fold YoY, to 322.753 million UAH. (Ukrainian metal)

Russia: Chukotka coal output up in January-October 2017

In January-October Chukotka Autonomous District mined 400.8 thousand tons of coal, up by 83% YoY.

Of this volume, Shakta Ugolnaya provided 178.3 thousand tons, down by 19%.

The second largest miner in the region is Beringpromugol LLC, developing the Fandyushkinskoye deposits since December 2016. This year the company has mined 222.5 thousand tons. (Ukrainian metal)

Russia: Ksenievsky Priisk net profit down in January-September 2017

In January-September Ksenievsky Priisk received 372.3 million rubles of net profit, down by 3% YoY.

Revenue increased by 14% YoY, to 1.729 billion rubles. Sales profit reached 493.4 million rubles, up by 9%.
