Russia: Uskovskaya mines 2 million tons of coal

The Uskovskaya mine has yielded 2 million tons of coal.

The coal was mined from two long faces – 50-06 of the East wing and 50-20 of the West wing.

The 1st million tons were mined in May.

Russia: Mechel-Koks finishes coke-oven battery No. 7 modernization

Mechel-Koks has commissioned the modernized coke-oven battery No. 7.

The modernization will help decrease air pollution when producing coke by 9.1 tons per year.

The cost of the project was 76 million rubles.

Ukraine: scrap procurement falling for 5 years

Volumes of scrap procurement have been falling for the past 5 years. According to the Ukrainian Association of Secondary metals (UAVtormet), procurement fell from 4.6 million tons in 2013 to 3.7 million tons in 2017. In January-November Russia produced 4.3 million tons of steel structures, down by 2.3% YoY.

According to the Federal Service of State Statistics, November output was down by 2% YoY and by 12.3% from June.
