Mariupol Ilyich Iron and Steel Works evaluates its daily losses from the Donbass railroad blockade at 4 million UAH.
“We have already lost 30% of coke, or 46 thousand tons, 70% of flux limestone, or 80 thousand tons, for our normal operation. The sinter factory no longer receives coal. Our company looses some 4 million UAH daily because of the blockade”, the company CEO Yuri Zinchenko said.
According to him, the company had to decrease output. In particular sinter production dropped by 16%, or by 120 thousand tons, pig iron – by 22%, or by 62 thousand tons, steel – by 16%, or by 36 thousand tons. (Ukrainian metal)
