Ukrainian exports of metals fell by 7% YoY in H1 2012

The State statistics committee said, Ukraine’s total exports of ferrous and non-ferrous metals and metal products, measured by value, decreased by 7.3% YoY to $10.2 billion in January to June.
The committee said export of metals and metal products accounted for 30.3% of the country total exports worth $33.7 billion in the period. (Ukrainian Journal)

ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih steel output increased by 28%

The Ukrainian unit of ArcelorMittal, the world largest steelmaker, increased steel production last month by 28%.
ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih said steel output rose to 544,100 tons in July compared with 425,100 tons in the same month a year earlier.

Ukrainian metal market showed insignificant growth in H1 2012

It is reported that domestic metal consumption increased by 1% YoY to 3.5 million tons in H1 2012.
The volume of imported products increased by 18% YoY to 840 000 tons during the period, while its share reached 23.9% of the market compared to 20.5% in H1 2011. (Phoenix-capital)

Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works to increase production in August 2012

Ukrainian steelmaker Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works, a subsidiary of the Ukrainian steel producer Industrial Union of Donbass, plans to increase its production of steel products in August by around 21% compared to July to around 290,000 tons including 195,000 tons of finished rolled steel products and 95-100,000 tons of slabs. ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih to increase shipments of rebar in August 2012

ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih, the Ukrainian subsidiary of the global steel giant ArcelorMittal, has announced that in August it plans to increase shipments of rebar by 3% to 7% compared to July to 230-240,000 tons.
In January to July ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih shipped 1.4 million tons of rebar, up by 12% YoY. (SteelOrbis)

EU may cut import duty for Interpipe

Ukrainian steel pipe production in January to July 2012

According to the figures, issued by Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers, in the January to July period of the current year Ukrainian companies produced 1.252 million tons of steel pipes, down by 4.8% YoY.
