Russia: pig iron exports down in May 2017

In May, according to the customs statistics, Russia exported 391.7 thousand tons of pig iron, up 3-fold MoM, but down by 12% YoY.

In January-May pig iron exports totaled 1.71 million tons, down by 15% YoY.

USA imported 62% of all pig iron, with Spain exporting 10% and Turkey 9%. (Ukrainian metal)

Ukraine: ZZF SB chairman replaced

The supervisory board of Zaporozhye Ferro Alloys Plant has elected Maxim Dunych the chairman instead of Alexei Androschuk.

The decision was taken at the board meeting on July 10.

Russia: UMMC revenue up in 2016

In 2016 Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company received $5.3 billion of consolidated revenue, up by 17% YoY.

The group EBITDA reached $1.2 billion.

Non-ferrous metals accounted for 51% of the revenue, coal – 20%, precious metals – 9%. Exports share was 48%. (Ukrainian metal)

Russia: Niman gets 98 kg of gold

So far this year the Niman artel LLC has obtained 98 kg of gold, up by 6 kg YoY.

Niman washes for alluvial gold in the Verkhebureinsky district of Khabarovsk krai. The industrial season started in early May. In the first month of operation the company washed 20 kg of gold. (Ukrainian metal)

Russia: Severstal to supply hot-rolled sheet for drilling rigs manufacture

Severstal will supply 1300 tons of hot-rolled sheet of various grades to Uralmash NGO Holding LLC to produce drilling rigs.

The sheets will be delivered by Severstal Distribution directly from Cherepovets Iron and Steel Works. (Ukrainian metal)

Russia: UMMC to produce 360 thousand tons of cathode copper in 2017

In 2017 Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company plans to produce 280 thousand tons of zinc, up by 8-10% YOY.

Kazakhstan: Canada introduces duties on silicon steel

According to Canadian Border Service, the country has imposed antidumping duties of 135.3% on the import of silicon steel from Kazakhstan.
