Russia: platinum and palladium output down in H1 2016

Ukraine: Mariupol Ilyich gas consumption down in January-August 2016

In January-August Mariupol Ilyich Iron and Steel Works decreased natural gas consumption by 29% YoY.

“Now the total consumption of the works is less than 32.5 thousand cubic meters per hour”, said the company CEO Yuri Zinchenko, adding that steel smelting grew by 5.4% and pig iron production – by 9.3%. (Ukrainian metal)

Ukraine: Zaporizhstal completing major eco-project

Zaporizhstal has halted its sintering machine No. 6 to install the new gas-purifying system.

“In 45 days the environmental project valued at 870 million UAH will be completed. In early November the sintering factory chimneys will show the result”, said the company CEO Rostislav Shurma.

Ukraine: steel pipes export-import in July 2016

In July Ukraine exported $39.18 million worth of steel pipes, with imports on the level of $7.59 million.

According to the State Fiscal Service, the main importer of Ukrainian steel pipes in July was Russia ($8.77 million).

In January-July Ukraine exported $226.01 million worth of steel pipes, while imports totaled $64.89 million. (Ukrainian metal)

Ukraine: steel semis export-import in July 2016

In July Ukraine exported $224.58 million worth of steel semi-finished products, while imports reached $1.22 million.

According to the State Fiscal Service, the main consumer of Ukrainian steel semis in July was Egypt ($60.62 million).

In January-July steel semis exports totaled $1326.95 million, with imports on the level of $6.83 million. (Ukrainian metal)

Ukraine: CGOK buys 210 million UAH worth of quarry machines

Central Mining and Processing Works has purchased quarry machines valued at 210.5 million UAH.

According to the company statement, it has acquired 6 large trucks and a Komatsu D275F-5 bulldozer.

The new machines will work at the Artemovsk quarry in Kirovograd region. (Ukrainian metal)

Russia: TaAZ to be constructed anew

The construction of the aluminum works in Tayshet could start in 2017, according to the deputy of the Irkutsk region government head Anton Logashov.

At present the construction is halted. Rusal has been constructing TaAZ since 2006. The works capacity should stand at 750 thousand tons of aluminum per year. (Ukrainian metal)
