Ukraine: Avdiivka Coke stops coke delivery

Avdiivka Coke and Chemical Works had to temporarily stop coke deliveries following recent shelling.

In 2014-2015 the works was idle over 10 times because of the damage caused by shelling. (Ukrainian metal)

Ukraine: HBI imports up in January-May 2016

According to the State Fiscal Service, in January-May Ukrainian companies imported 44.41 thousand tons of hot-briquetted iron worth $6.68 million, up 7.7 times and 4.4 times YoY respectively.

In May HBI imports increased to 17637 tons from 12827 tons in April. Russia was responsible for all HBI deliveries. (Ukrainian metal)

Ukraine: metal prices increase speeds up in May 2016

In May industrial prices increased by 5.3% MoM and by 13.9% YoY in January-May.

According to the State Statistics Service, mining prices went up by 19.7 MoM, processing – by 4%, including by 13.4% in metal. Coke prices in May increased by 1.6% MoM. (Ukrainian metal)

Ukraine: ferroalloys output up in April 2016

In April Ukraine produced 90.2 thousand tons of ferroalloys, up by 4.9% MoM, or by 4,2 thousand tons.

According to the Association of Ukrainian Ferroalloy Producers, in January-April ferroalloy output decreased by 1.8% YoY, or by 5.9 thousand tons, to 318.9 thousand tons. (Ukrainian metal)
