Ukraine: scrap export up in January-August 2021

In January-August, Ukraine exported $175.59 million worth of ferrous scrap, up 27-fold YoY. According to the State Customs Service, in September exports amounted to $18.44 million, up from $1.13 million in September 2020. In April-June, 281.2 thousand people were employed in the mining industry and the development of quarries, up by 1.7% YoY. In Q2 2020, the number decreased by 0.6%, to 276.4 thousand people.
