Russia: CherMK to repair 25 km of railroad

In 2019 Cherepovets Iron and Steel Works intends to repair 25 km of railroad.

21 km will be reconstructed using ferroconcrete assembled rails and sleepers.

Investments in the project will amount to 550 million rubles.

All the railroads (440 km) are expected to be repaired within 10 years. (Ukrainian metal)

Russia: Severstal Steel Decisions supplies metal structures to Kamchatka

Severstal Steel Decisions has finished delivering metal structures for the construction of the refrigerator warehouse for fish products in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.

The premises were designed together by Obninsk Steel Project and Severstal Steel Decisions.

The 3D models were developed in Tekla Structures.

The distance of the delivery was 7.2 thousand km. (Ukrainian metal)

Ukraine: AMKR shops left without electricity

Because of the damage to 4 electricity lines several shops of ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih have been cut off grid.

In particular, without electricity are open-hearth, blooming and rolling shops.

Ukraine: Ukrzaliznytsia prohibits scrap shipping to AMKR

Ukrainian Railways (Ukrzaliznytsia) has prohibited the transportation of metal scrap to ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih.

According to the enterprise report, scrap is prohibited to be delivered to the Krivoy Rog-Main station.

Russia: metal structures output up in January 2019

In January Russia produced 354 thousand tons of metal structures.

According to the Federal Statistics Service, the output grew by 27% YoY.

Ukraine: hearth man dies at DMK

On February 18, a body of a hearth man was found near the blast furnace 9 controls at the Dneprovsky Iron and Steel Combine.

The man was 47 years old.

“Emergency arrived at the site, but after some time had to state the death of the person”, the company reported.
