Russia: gold output up in August 2018

Russian gold bar production rose by 0.4% YoY and by 9.5% MoM in August, the Federal State Statistics Service said on September 17.

In January-August gold bar production decreased by 0.4% YoY.

Russia: ferrous scrap exports to Belarus up in August 2018

In August Russia exported 129 thousand tons of ferrous scrap to Belarus.

According to the railroad statistics, this is up by 20.2% YoY.

In January-August scrap exports totaled 885.2 thousand tons, up by 17.8% YoY. (Ukrainian metal)

Ukraine: 660 million UAH to be spent to shut down state mines

Next year the government intends to provide 659.7 million UAH to shut down and maintain closed coalmines and coal-processing enterprises.

According to the budget draft, the funds will be spent to prepare 3 coalmining enterprises for liquidation.

Russia: VMZ railroad sales down in August 2018

In August Vyksa Iron and Steel Works shipped 146.2 thousand tons of metal via railroad, down by 21.3% YoY.

In 8 months sales reached 1.51 million tons, up by 15.1% YoY.

Russian customers received 1.18 million tons, up by 15.2%, while exports grew by 14.5%, to 333.7 thousand tons. (Ukrainian metal)
