Judging from the Cabinet of Ministers decree dated February 17, the government is worried about the quality of rolled metal used in construction.
There are 177 companies in the country manufacturing metal products for construction. Flaws have been found out in their operation that affect the safety of steel products. In particular, they are the lack of technical regulations, environment expertise, as well as quality and safety control.
In order to safeguard construction objects, from June 1, each batch of metal sold has to be accompanied by a document certifying its quality.
Moreover, no rolled metal for construction may be produced using induction furnaces. (Ukrainian metal)
