In January-February Ukraine imported 2.44 million tons of coal worth $238 million, down by 11% YoY. Russia exported $118.1 million worth of coal, USA – $45.3 million, Australia – $25.9 million and other countries – $48.7 million.
In 2015 thermal power stations received 8.5 million tons of coal from the ATO zone. That’s 10 times more than has been imported from the South African Republic, and 13 times more than from Russia.
The Cabinet of Ministers has included supplies from the occupied territories of Donbass into the coal consumption plan.
The Ministry of energy and coal industry plans to find a way to increase coal output by changing taxes.
According to the Ministry of energy and coal industry press-service this has been discussed at the meeting of the ministry head Vladimir Demchyshin with the minister of energy and natural resources of Turkey Berat Albairak.
The State Property Fund of Ukraine intends to sell some 450 state companies in 2016, including Odessa Port Works, Kievenergo, Azovmach and Mine named after Zasyadko.
