The newly appointed minister of energy and coal industry Igor Nasalik has promised to visit Novovolynsk as he intends to keep the coal industry in the region.
Beginning with April 11, without the official statement, DTEK Zapadenergo decreased acceptance of state coal from 3 thousand tons to 800-900 thousand tons per day.
In May Ukraine will produce 2.2 million tons of steel, 2.1 million tons of pig iron and 1.9 million tons of rolled metal, according to Metallurgprom. For April its figures were as follows: steel – 2.1 million tons, pig iron – 2 million tons, rolled metal – 1.8 million tons.
In January-March Ukraine mined 10 million tons of coal, up by 6.4% YoY. According to the Ministry of energy and coal industry, in March coal output totaled 3.4 million tons. (Ukrainian metal)
DTEK Ternovskoye Mine Group was the second among other DTEK mine groups to yield 1 million tons of coal since the beginning of the year.
Rolf Petri of Berlin Relations GmbH has presented the project of coal industry reforming to the Donetsk region administration.
In January-March Ukraine imported $353.5 million worth of coal, down by 12.7% YoY.
