Uzbekistan: coal output down in January-May 2019

According to the State Statistics Committee, in January-May Uzbekistan mined 1239.2 thousand tons of coal, down by 15.3% YoY. The decrease in coal mining is accompanied by the rapid price growth. Compared with May 2018, the price has increased 1.7-fold. The need in investments in coal industry is estimated at $420 million. (Ukrainian metal)

Ukraine: coal import costs up in January-May 2019

Ukraine in January-May increased by 1.3% YoY, to $1.265 billion, expenditures to cover hard coal and anthracite imports, the State Fiscal Service reported.
