In January-September Amur region yielded 2.4 million tons of coal. Amursky Ugol carries on its program to modernize mining and transport machinery. Thus, new bulldozers appeared at Yerkovetksy and Severo-Vostochniy pits. In 2018 the program will continue. Yerkovetsky pit was put into operation in 1991, Severo-Vostochniy pit – in 1932. Miners of the Neryungrinsky pit, a part of Yakutugol, have shipped the 350-millionth ton of coal since the company has been put into operation. Russian coal exports in January-September increased by 5.4% YoY, to 138.449 million tons, the Ministry of Energy of Russia statistics showed. In January-September the miners of Stepnoy pit, a part of Russky Ugol, yielded over 3.1 million tons of power-generating coal.
