An UAV has attacked a Severstal steel plant in Cherepovets, Russia.

An explosion was heard in the city.

Local Telegram channels reported that in the early morning of March 7 there was an explosion at the plant, heard by many citizens.

The Severstal press service at first said there was a “technological accident at blast furnace manufacture” of Cherepovets Iron and Steel Works. There were no casualties. The reason of the accident is being investigated.

Later the governor of the Vologda region Georgiy Filimonov declared the accident was due to the attack of the drone.

This is the third UAV attack on a major metal plant in Russia. Earlier, metal plants were attacked in Lipetsk and Kursk regions.
