In 2020, Cherepovets Iron and Steel Works will continue its large-scale infrastructure modernization program and will spend some 4.5 billion rubles on it.

“The program is planned for 10 years. This year we intend to carry out 25 projects. The main are the replacement of lifting mechanisms, fire systems, conveyers and transformers, as well as the modernization of the special machinery and railroad fleet”, Severstal Russian Steel repair division director Sergey Dobrodey noted.

Thus, the crane replacement program will have 16 projects valued at 2 billion rubles. 4 cranes will be commissioned at the blast furnace No. 3, the launch of which is scheduled in the second half of the year.

In 2019, the reconstruction, modernization and complete replacement of fire-extinguishing system cost 200 million rubles. This year the program will receive 600 million rubles.

Some 500 million rubles will be spent to modernize the conveyers in the coke-sinter-blast furnace shops, up 2-fold YoY.

The company will also spend 400 million rubles on three new transformers.

The machinery and railroad fleet will receive 350 million rubles. In particular, the company will buy 20 new units. (Ukrainian metal)
