Cherepovets Iron and Steel Works has started constructing the foundation of the first block of the coke-oven battery No. 1.
The continuous pouring of the lower foundation slab lasted for 2 days.
Some 2960 cubic meters of concrete have been poured, with over 100 machines used.
“The coke-oven battery No. 1 with the technique of coal blend tramping will be the first such machine in Russia. The higher density of coal blend will allow producing better quality coke and expanding the grade contents”, Severstal Russian Steel CEO Vadim Germanov noted. (Ukrainian metal)
