Interpipe is pondering the creation of the database of unscrupulous scrap procuring enterprises in order not to cooperate with them in future.
“The scrap shortage is an important factor for us, but on the other hand we are now more concerned with the quality of the raw materials we receive. We want to create the database of the unscrupulous suppliers of scrap with whom it would be better not to cooperate”, the Interpipe Steel long-term planning department representative Andrei Shevchenko said.
The company would also like to differentiate the payment for scrap depending on its quality.
“If they supply us with old cans, the price will be one, and if it’s a prepared scrap, the price will be quite different”, he added. (Ukrainian metal)
