ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih Mining and Metallurgical Plant (AMKR, Dnipropetrovsk region) has scheduled repairs to the equipment in the sulfur refining shop of its coke and chemical plant (CCP).
According to the company’s Facebook post, the repairs are being carried out to maintain the equipment in good technical condition, ensure its reliable operation, and prevent accidents.
AMKR reports that the repairs will take place from October 5 to 18.
It is also specified that the work will be carried out in compliance with the Law of Ukraine “On Atmospheric Air Protection,” technological standards for permissible emissions from coke ovens, and the terms of the company’s permits.
“During the repair period, the plant will monitor its emissions according to the schedule. The schedule for monitoring ground-level sulfur dioxide concentrations is available at this link. The results of this monitoring will be published daily on the AMKR website,” the press release states.
ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih is the largest rolled steel producer in Ukraine. It specializes in the production of long products, including rebar and wire rod.
