In May Ukraine produced 1.58 million tons of pig iron, down by 4% MoM.
Steel smelting dropped by 2%, to 1.695 million tons, while rolled metal manufacture grew by 3%, to 1.55 million tons.
The decrease in pig iron and steel production is the result of ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih blast furnace No. 9 repair.
Pig iron manufacture in January-May increased by 8% YoY, to 8.52 million tons. Steel production remained on the previous year level (8.68 million tons), while that of rolled metal grew by 5%, to 7.72 million tons. (Ukrainian metal)
