In January-May Ukraine exported 251 thousand tons of scrap, up 2.5-fold YoY, valued at $83.5 million, up 3.9-fold.
According to the State Fiscal Service, in May 34.54 thousand tons of scrap were exported, in April – 76.331 thousand tons, in March – 53.67 thousand tons, in February – 52.63 thousand tons and in January- 33.814 thousand tons.
Scrap imports in January-May grew by 73.5%, to 20.74 thousand tons valued at $16.6 million, up by 62%.
The main suppliers were Turkey (72.01%), Russia (12.44%) and Slovakia (10.22%), with Moldova (76.7%), Turkey (22.1%) and the Netherlands (0.8%) the main customers. (Ukrainian metal)
