The increase of the export duty for ferrous scrap from 30 euros per ton to 42 euros will not directly affect Ukrainian obligations under the Association agreement with EU.
According to the vice-prime minister on European and Euroatlantic integration Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze, exporters of scrap to EU paid the duty of 7.5 euros per ton and would continue paying it.
“The WTO rules provide for the necessity to strictly comply with the certain procedure on consulting with all the international trade partners and providing them with the information, which explains such measures”, she said. (Ukrainian metal)
