Karabashmed, a part of the Russia Copper Company, has assembled the last of the three new Kumera converters at its metal shop.
Commissioning is scheduled for Q3.
The first two converters were assembled in October 2017 under the modernization program. It will increase the company capacity to 150 thousand tons of raw copper per year, including 130 thousand tons of mineral raw materials.
At present the capacities are 130 thousand tons and 110 thousand tons respectively.
Investments in modernization this year will exceed 2 billion rubles.
Since 2004 RCC has invested over 18 billion rubles in Karabashmed. (Ukrainian metal)
