In August the metal plating shop No. 2 of Cherepovets Iron and Steel Works produced 63 thousand tons of galvanized metal. The previous record of 60 thousand tons was set in May 2016.

Last month the continuous hot alumining and continuous galvanizing mills operated at the maximum capacity. At the same time output increased because of larger plate orders.

Galvanized metal is used to test the new mill of polymer coating in the metal plating shop No. 3 being constructed. It will include a continuous galvanizing mill with the capacity of 0.4 million tons per year and a polymer coating mill with the capacity of 0.2 million tons per year. The shop is scheduled for commission this autumn. (Ukrainian metal)
