Interpipe notes a large drop in scrap procurement in Ukraine together with the growth of the bad quality scrap.

“Scrap procurement in Ukraine has decreased because of the pandemic leading to a drop of steel output. There is some scrap shortage, but the losses are minimal”, Interpipe CFO Denis Morozov has said.

According to him, the share of bad quality scrap is growing.

He also considers it efficient selling scrap from state enterprises directly to customers, avoiding middlemen. (Ukrainian metal)
