Severstal Russian Steel has approved of a construction task and technical documentation needed to start producing machinery for the ball-rolling mill No. 3 at Cherepovets Iron and Steel Works.

The total cost of the project is 1 billion rubles.

CherMK operates two ball-rolling mills producing balls with the diameter of 20 to 40 and 30 to 60 mm. Their combined capacity is 60 thousand tons per year.

The new machine will produce balls of a larger diameter – 60 to 100 mm, and its capacity will be 70 thousand tons per year.

The commission of the mill is scheduled for H2 2020. (Ukrainian metal)
