In 2018 Russia exported 8.246 thousand tons of stainless steel products, up by 18% YoY.

The share of the flat rolled metal grew from 18.8% to 28.2%, that of bars – from 24.6% to 27%, of wire from 1.1% to 1.4%, electric welded pipes – from 11.6% to 13.9% and of pipe fittings from 1.8% to 2.5%.

At the same time the share of steel billets dropped from 7.1% to 2.5%, and of seamless pipes from 34.9% to 24.6%.

The export of flat rolled metal grew by 76.7%, to 2323 tons, bars – by 29.5%, to 2229 tons, electric welded pipes – by 40.8%, to 1142 tons, pipe fittings – by 64.1%, to 204 tons, and wire – by 43.4%, to 113 tons.

The export of seamless pipes dropped by 16.7%, to 2032 tons and of steel billets – by 59.2%, to 203 tons.

The main exporters were Atomstroyproekt, the share of which increased from 16.8% to 21.7%, Krasniy Oktyabr – from 13.7% to 15.4%, Baltinox LLC – from 5.6% to 6.6% and Techno Tube LLC – from 0.8% to 4.6%, while the share of Marshal LLC decreased from 5.9% to 4.2%.

The main importers were Ukraine (32.3%), India (23%), Switzerland (8.1%), Lithuania (7.6%) and Germany (7.5%). (Ukrainian metal)
