According to the Spetsstal Association, in January-October Russia increased rolled stainless steel output by 2.9% YoY, to 64.55 thousand tons.
Bars were responsible for the increase, having grown by 18.6%. Other metal types manufacture decreased: hot-rolled flat metal – by 10.6%, pipes billets – by 13.3% and cold-rolled flat metal by 22%.
The main stainless steel manufacturers were Krasniy Octyabr (41.3%, last year – 48.9%), ZEMZ (27.7%, 17.5%), Izhstal (14.9%, 15.7%), Electrostal (7.6%, 6.9%), ChMK (5.7%, 7.3%) and other companies (2.8%, 3.7%).
In 10 months Krasniy Octyabr decreased output by 13.1% YoY, while ZEMZ increased by 62.3%.
Izhstal decreased stainless steel output by 1.8%, ChMK – by 20.5%, BMK – by 3.4% and UralKuz by 46.2%.
Electrostal increased output by 14.1%, while Asha Iron and Steel Works dropped by 7.6%. (Ukrainian metal)
