Cherepovets Iron and Steel Works has produced anniversary tons of steel at two shops.
In particular, the electric steel shop produced the 45-millionth ton of steel. The first metal was produced there in 1969. At first the shop had 4 electric arc furnaces, a steel degassing machine and two slab continuous casting machines.
The converter steel shops produced 245-millionth ton of steel. In 30 years output has been increased almost 2-fold, from 5 to 9.8 million tons per year. (Ukrainian metal)
