Russia’s gold output increased by 6.4% YoY, to 306.9 tons in 2017, the Finance Ministry said in a statement on February 13 with data on supplies of the metal to gold refining plants.

Mined gold output rose by 6.8%, to 253.9 tons, by-product gold output increased by 7.2%, to 16.4 tons, and gold scrap production grew by 3.4%, to 36.6 tons.

Russia’s silver output decreased by 4.1%, to 1,044.3 tons in 2017. Primary silver production fell by 18.9%, to 429.9 tons, while by-product silver output rose by 9.6%, to 305.1 tons, and production of silver scrap increased by 21.4%, to 246.3 tons. (Prime/Ukrainian metal)
